#emmastibbon retraced Ruskin’s steps on a visit to Chamonix 160 years on to find a rather different view of the Mer de Glace glacier The valley is now “devoid of ice”, a scary sign of #climatechange
To document this stark contrast Stibbon has used an early photographic process #cyanotype to resonate with Ruskin’s daguerreotypes of the same location, the one seen here was made @inkonpaperpress
Stibbon’s commission forms part of the forthcoming exhibition @yorkartgalleryveteam in June ‘Ruskin, Turner and the Storm Cloud’
